The Wilson River is approximately 33 miles long and flows west through the Tillamook State Forest into Tillamook Bay. It is the largest river feeding into Tillamook Bay. The river is known for its fantastic Fall Chinook run and is considered one of the state's best Chinook fisheries. The salmon average over twenty pounds but can reach to over sixty. The river has both a Spring and Fall run. The Wilson River is also a great steelhead location with both a summer and winter run. During the months of June and July the river will offer both Steelhead and Salmon opportunities. The river has plenty of bank access and can be navigated in drift boats effectively.
